- I have a question I was wondering if you could
help me with, I apologize for asking, but you seem like a reliable
source and may be able to give me an answer. I live in Florida and
am interested in bail enforcement, fugitive apprehension, etc. What
are the rules and laws here? Thank you very much for your help.

- Brian,
-
- Apprehending bail fugitives is legal in Florida-
the process is just a little different than in most states.
-
- In Florida you must obtain your "limited
surety agent" license from the
- Florida Department of Financial Services, Bureau of
Agent and Agency
- Licensing, in order to legally apprehend bail
fugitives.
-
- It is important to note that in Florida it is
illegal to refer to or
- identify oneself as a bounty hunter, bail
enforcement agent, fugitive
- recovery agent, etc- anything other than a
"limited surety agent" or a
- "professional bail bondsman."
-
- More information can be obtained by visiting the
FDFS website at:
or by calling them at (850) 413-3137, Ext. 1101
-
- Yes, you could work in other states, traveling from
Florida- I know of several people who do.
- Warmest Regards,
