Female Bounty Hunters

Shelley
Conroe, TX

I don't get it then, how do women succeed in this business then? I
couldn't see being able to pick up a 350 pound drug dealer with me and just
another female partner, do other girls? When watching the bounty hunting
show on tv (which I think uses too much pumped up sweat) they have a team
of 5 or 6 people going out for just one person, how do they split that up
you think? Doesn't this seem like an inefficient way to do business as all
of them are going around together to locate the guy and then pick up,
instead of a few people locating and then others doing the pickup so that
they can all stay busy being productive at the same time?

Shelley,

Yes, other women do work by themselves in the field, oftentimes with the assistance of local law enforcement. When I had my company in Austin, I employed a lady who was VERY good at getting people into jail and most of the time she did it by herself.

The shows that you are watching are not entirely realistic- consider the 2 most popular ones on TV right now- Dog and Family Bonds- they are both the bail bondsman and the recovery agent at the same time. It isn't exactly like they are paying themselves to go out and get the job done. Everyone who is going out on the case is an employee or owner of the company( with the exception of 2 very young guys on the Family Bonds show who are doing it for free to get experience) with a personal financial stake in getting these people back in jail.

I very rarely work with a partner at all- and if I do I give them a small percentage for the "ride along." In those instances where a pair of people start a company they treat the business like a partnership- 50/50. I understand that you want to make this work but perhaps it is not right for you or your company. You might try to market your skip tracing services to the bondsmen in Austin, but knowing almost all of them the way that I do- one that would use a skip tracer does not immediately come to mind.

Warmest Regards,
