Re: Apprehending Bail Fugitives Book

L. Scott Harrell:

Congratulations! I have not been able to stop reading the book.

I'm on page 55 and it's bedtime so I'll put it aside until tomorrow when I
expect to finish it. I can already see a work-list developing from the many
points covered in your book.

I'm just getting into the business, and I've spent the last month
researching laws, etc, and your characterizations about many of the hunters
out there being virtual illiterates (my interpretation of your euphemisms)
are true.

I made the mistake of purchasing (fortunately for only $4.99) "Trackdown"
which promised to uncover the insider's view of the business, only to find
that Mr. Fernandez's book is amateurish, at best! And, it offers little
insight into the field of bail enforcement.

Unfortunately, I also committed to enrolling in one of those 3 day schools
that promises to make me a bounty hunter. Frankly, I knew that such was
impossible, but I did so rationalizing the expense and effort as at least an
initial networking exercise. Besides, Arizona now requires formal training.
I called the Director of Training for this particular school and found that
he was neither articulate nor sophisticated (actually refused to offer a
curriculum outline-I now doubt that one even exists) about his school.
Being a newbie, I thought that I could at least glean some of the basics
from attending the school. But, I see now that in just an hour of reading
that your book offers those very bits of information that I need to initiate
my research and business.

I'm a newbie in the business but my upbringing, background, and professional
experience have prepared me for this kind of work. I have almost 8 years of
law enforcement and investigatory work. I grew up a "though kid" but
escaped (moved out of the city) that lifestyle (death or addiction) and was
fortunate enough to receive a good education and experience success in the
environmental engineering field. Eight years ago I moved (semi-retired at
age 43) only to loose it all in a law suit from a previous buiness fiasco.

That's okay. I've worked as a game warden, environmental investigator, an
environmental engineering consultant, a cowboy, professional photographer,
and now I hope to enter into the Bail Enforcement business, so I am
confident in my ability to market myself and do good work.

Your book is a great start. Your marketing ideas are proven, not only by
your experience, but by mine as well. I starting working as an
environmental consultant by utilizing the virtual identical approach as you
in gaining work. I had marvelous success.

Thanks. You're words have inspired me to continue. If ever needing an
associate in Arizona, please don't hesitate to give me a call. I don't know
you, but I know I like you, based on your writing alone.

Wishing you continued great success!
Gratefully,

P.S. Your Introductory (email) Articles were very attractive and a smart
marketing tool. But more importantly, your product (i.e., book) reflects
the promises you've made about it. I expect that the training, etc. that
you offer is as well, exceptional.

John,

Thank you very much for your well thought out and articulate comments!

Regarding the 3 day course- if you have to have it then you might as well get it out of the way. Go in with an open mind to learn whatever you can. Reject the war stories and history lessons- they're entirely irrelevant. It sounds like you are bright enough to know what is important and what is not. I'd like to hear about your experience when you are through!

Good luck and if you need anything, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Warmest Regards,

L. Scott Harrell
