Bail Enforcement and Bounty Hunting in Mexico
- Ricardo Rodriguez
- Clarcksville, Arkansas
-
- For a long time I have known people that skip bail
and go to Mexico, so I was wondering if you got bail enforcment
agents in Mexico and what are the requirements?

-
- Ricardo,
-
- Yes this has long been an issue.
-
- Bail Enforcement is Illegal in Mexico:
-
- Since Mexico does not recognize our bail system,
the ability of the
- bondsman to confer the authority to arrest his
principal and the fact that
- there are many different international and
country-specific laws affecting
- the apprehension and extradition of fugitives it is
generally not legal to
- go to Mexico to apprehend fugitives. MANY bounty
hunters have been arrested
- and jailed for long periods of time attempting
unauthorized extraditions
- (AKA Kidnapping).
-
- Remember Duane "Dog" Chapman not too long
ago?
-
- There is a correct way to do it, which is not
terribly difficult; we
- do it often in Mexico but we always follow accepted
guidelines which
- normally involves established law enforcement
officials on both sides of
- the border and never a covert action.
-
