- I am seeking information about becoming a bail
bondsman in the State of Texas. I have Googled, looked at the Texas
Department of Insurance and the Attorney General's Office site. Of
course there is some information on each of those sites. However, I
couldn't find a link or topic that specifically discussed the
"how to" or licenses requirements. Any suggestions?
- Thank you for your attention to this request.

- Phillis,
-
- Start with the Washington Co. Sheriff's office. In
Texas, the Sheriff's Department regulates bail bondsmen in counties
with less than 300,000 people. In larger counties, bail bond boards
are in place.
-
- Then I would simply go talk to a bail bondsman,
don't call them on the phone- that is where they make a living (by
receiving calls).
-
- (That's the problem with a lot of people these days: the
Internet has largely caused people to forget social skills
altogether. Go speak to a live person!)
