Bail Enforcement in Hawaii

From CJ Wheeler

Mililani Hawaii

I was wondering if there was a universal age limit to bounty hunting. I am 17 fresh out of high school and I've been thinking about what I would like to do. Bounty hunting (trying not the be derogatory) seems very appealing especially since I enjoy being around and working with Law Enforcement Officers. I was just curious if there was an age limit and how I would go about securing information concerning Hawaii Laws and or possibly California.

CJ,

There is no universal age requirement for bail recovery agents, each state regulates bail enforcement differently.

You must be at least 18 in HI, which does not currently require licensing in order to work in this industry (that is why they have felons running around the islands acting like assholes).  (This may change at any time so do not rely on this article for legal advice or an interpretation of current law) CA does require either a private investigator's license or a bail agent's license- both have different requirements.

In order to get more info concerning the CA licenses type into Google "California private investigator license BSIS" or "California Department of Insurance" and you should be able to find more about those specifically.

Take care.
